RYA/World Sailing Offshore Personal Survival Course 
Previously Called RYA/ISAF Offshore Course, ISAF Offshore Safety Course or the ISAF Offshore Race Crew Course. 

This training is a requirement for many offshore races including the ARC Race, RORC Fastnet, RORC Round Britain and Ireland, RORC Trans Atlantic Race, Sydney Hobart RORC Round Ireland Race.

This training covers the training required by World Sailing Offshore Special Regulations (OSR) 6.01 and the topics listed in OSR 6.02 for category 0, 1 & 2 races (and category 3 if racing double-handed).

It is one day or two evenings PLUS an RYA Sea Survival Course 

The course covers:

​

  • Care and maintenance of safety equipment

  • Storm sails

  • Damage control

  • Crew routines

  • Man overboard

  • Prevention and recovery

  • Giving assistance to other craft

  • Search and Rescue organisation and methods

  • Fire precautions and fire fighting

  • Practical Fire with live fire is on the Sea Survival Day

  • Distress alerting

Bespoke and Group Courses

We can set up a bespoke 1:1, or group course at a time that is more convenient. We have run bespoke courses in  Greece, Malta, and Scotland.
