Service Description

Day Skipper Two and a Half Weekends (12, 13), (19, 20) October, and Saturday 2 November RYA Day Skipper Theory Classroom Based. Accredited RYA Theory Course offering a comprehensive introduction to sail cruising for inexperienced skippers. This course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising. This course is held inn London Additional Info: Course Title: RYA Day Skipper Theory Course Cost: £415. This includes the RYA Course pack & materials. The Portland Plotter and Dividers need to be purchased in addition. Course Duration: 40 guided learning hours + 2 x exam papers, either as evenings and/or mixed in with weekends. NOTE: a small amount of homework will be required between sessions. Dates are not interchangeable. Core hours are from 0900 to 1700 It will be the responsibility of the student to catch up any missed dates. We suggest no more than 1 date get missed. Course Description: Course topics include: the basics of seamanship, the essentials of coastal navigation and pilotage, chart work, electronic charts, position fixing, plotting a course to steer, weather forecasting and meteorology, tides, collision regulations, construction, parts and equipment of a cruising boat, emergency and safety procedures including distress calls, use of flares, safety harnesses, life jackets and life rafts. What's Included: RYA Northern Hemisphere Student Pack includes assessment papers, course notes, practice charts, training almanac, certificate of completion. Cancellation Policy

You are advised to arrange your own insurance at the time of booking to cover personal accidents, cancellations, and medical. Cancellation by the client. It is not possible to change dates once you have booked. You may cancel your course at any time. Cancellation charges are as follows. Cancellation up to four weeks prior, full refund two weeks prior 50% refund after two weeks no refund but you may place someone else on your course place and will have to forwards full details. Pets are not allowed in the classroom except for guide dogs. If City Sailing has to change dates due to low bookings or circumstances beyond our control we will fully refund or move you to the next available date. Replacement Certificates - If you need a replacement certificate the fees ate £30 for Sea Survival, Day Skipper and Yachtmaster Theory £20 for First Aid, Radar.
