RYA First Aid Course This course will teach you how to cope with medical emergencies on board, from minor ailments to serious situations that require an immediate response. RYA MCA Sea Survival Course RYA Sea Survival Course Introduction to the City Sailing RYA/MCA Sea Survival Course Raft Contents Whats in my raft pack? Rescue at Sea How you get rescued by a helecopter at sea or by la lifeboat and how to prepare for a tow. Fire on board and how to deal with it Fire is a sailor's greatest fear. We have no way of going to the assembly point and when we get there our raft is not that fie proof. Lifejackets Paul goes into detail explaining lifejackets and the different types, manual and automatic and what to look out for. EPIRB and SART We look at examples of an EPIRB and a SART, please refer to the safety tutorial in the Day Skipper Section. Hydrostartic Releases We look at hydrostatic releases and how they work with the raft. RNLI Coldwater Shock Video We love this video and how it clearly explains the effect of coldwater shock. Sailing in the City ABOUT US City Sailing offers RYA Courses in London and Sailing in the UK and beyond. Company History City Sailing is owned by Paul Bew an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor and Examiner of Power Sail and Ocean and holds a Class Four Masters Certificate. He has Thirty years of instructional experience. Paul has won RORC race medals and won a Tall Ships trans-Atlantic race as Skipper. He has worked in two national sailing centres as an instructor and was a full-time skipper for the Ocean Youth Club (now Trust) for six seasons with trips as far as Australia, Azores, St Kilda and Iceland as well as three transatlantic crossings. He has also served a term as a director of the RYA for three years. Paul is a regular RYA Dinghy Senior Instructor in London and skippers for the Majestic Line on the West Coast of Scotland as well as examining for the RYA all over the world. He has owned and raced Sigma 38 Yachts and skippered them in Cork Week, and the RORC Fastnet Race. Paul now wants to share his sailing with you. Paul and his team are the most qualified RYA Instructors in London. We were the first to offer flexible courses in your office in London and still have the same high standard today.
