|Training for recreational and racing skippers and crews who will encounter rough weather and problems at sea.
At the end of the course you will have a good knowledge of the safety equipment carried on small boats and the seamanship techniques needed to survive at sea.
The certificate awarded conforms with the eligibility requirements of section 6.01 of the ISAF Special Regulations for category 0, 1 and some category 2 offshore races.
The regulations require:
SECTION 6 – TRAINING
6.01 At least 30% but not fewer than two members of a crew, including the skipper shall have undertaken training within the five years before the start of the race in both 6.02 topics for theoretical sessions, and
6.03 topics which include practical, hands-on sessions.

You WILL need to have done the RYA / MCA Sea Survival course and RYA First Aid Course prior to this course as this session fills in the sections that are not included in these courses.
There will be a multi choice paper at the end of the course as required by the ISAF Offshore Special Regulations Appendix G.
